2007 was a glorious, glorious year for dance music which, amongst other things, introduced me to to the cowbell-toting technicolour glory of Punks Jump Up and their Kitsune friendly penchant for CMYK and eccentric indie-punk guest vocalists (Pele from the Hives, if you were wondering).

Their Blockhead EP is a pretty fine way to kickstart 2011. The original track featured on the Kitsune Maison 10 compilation in November, but the Hey Today! remix on the EP goes one step further, keeping the cowbells and punk-funk vibe but warping things a little to make it into more of a huge club tune. Looking forward to hearing this on big soundsystem in 2011.

And, if you missed it just before Christmas, check out their Dance Report mix – super sexy setlist.
